(Six Months After Arriving in NYC!)
April 21, 2010, New York City – On Tuesday, May 11 Canadian expat Brooklyn-based rock trio, Hunter Valentine will release their US debut album, Lessons From The Late Night (Tommy Boy), and also attempt to set the world record for the most gigs played in one day by a man or woman. Mounting their “Tour de New York,” Hunter Valentine plan to begin early the morning of May 11th, heading out to play a high school, a university, a tattoo parlor, skate park, radio and TV shows, subway stations, retail stores, and finally, a live gig at Lower East Side hangout, Cake Shop.
Hunter Valentine Rocks On…
In the US, the band’s Video “The Stalker” was just voted #1 by viewers beating out Zeus, deadmau5 and Hidden Cameras and added to regular rotation on MTV’s college channel MTV-U. Last Sunday (April 18) “The Stalker” made it’s debut on MTV’s LGBT channel, Logo, and just last Friday, “The Stalker” was the Video Of The Day on Spinner.com.
Meanwhile, back in their homeland, fan reaction to “The Stalker” on Canada’s Much Music has been overwhelming: the video was selected as the Much Loud pick on Much Music for 3 weeks in a row and the video was added into rotation on Much Loud. Yesterday (April 20) the band made their on-screen debut on highly teen-rated Much On Demand with a live interview and performance, but not before giving host Jesse an "HV Makeover." Keeping it in the Much Music family, Hunter Valentine’s next video, “Revenge,” will be shot in Vancouver in July and will be directed by Much Music 2009 Director of the Year, Colin Minihan.
Finally, having just completed a two week Canadian tour–which included selling out Toronto’s legendary rock club, The Dakota Tavern–Hunter Valentine arrived back to New York City just in time to claim GO! Magazine’s “Best Local Band in New York” Annual Nightlife Awards. This only six months after moving to NYC!
