December 2, 2010, New York, NY – On March 18, 2011, The Saint At Large, the New York-based organization behind the notorious fetish-oriented Black Party®, swaggers back to The Roseland Ballroom to present the second annual BPX: The Black Party® Expo, benefiting The LGBT Center. Due to the success of last year’s debut, the expo has been expanded to two days and will take place on March 18 and 19.
This weekend-long series of events includes The Black Party® Expo and Bazaar followed by The Black Party® itself. Billed as "Behind The Scenes At The World's Sexiest Party," and benefiting The LGBT Center the day-long exposition is not only the ultimate gay adult play and entertainment shopping experience, but also a rare opportunity for visitors pull back the leather curtain and step into the netherworld behind the biggest and most notorious gay dance party in the world.
More specifically, one will be able to meet adult film stars, leather and fetish vendors, street performers, dancers and curiosity seekers who have heard of, but never ventured into the mystique behind The Black Party. Entertainment throughout the two days will feature eye-popping fashion shows, hot product demos, live musical performances and sexy sideshows often referred to as “strange live acts.”

Set in Manhattan’s historic Roseland Ballroom, attendees can expect to be enveloped in a full-on clubbing experience where they’ll be free to drink, ogle and shop while getting a sneak peek at The Black Party’s famously architectural décor (by noted theatrical set designer Adam Koch). Though this year's theme has yet to be fully unveiled (view teaser poster here), last year's event evoked “Kiss Of The Spider Woman,” 1930’s Argentina, Weimar Republic, uniforms, tango, prison, shady characters, bondage and sex. The Black Party is structured like a five act opera with a backstory, a director, featured actors, a professional theatrical production and lighting design. When one walks into the BPX: The Black Party Expo and Bazaar, one will enter into an immersive experience, featuring the audience as the star. That is the inspiration behind the original Saint experience which continues today.
The Saint At Large, inspired by the organization's legendary namesake nightclub, The Saint (1980 – 1988), has built its reputation as the preeminent gay producer of nightlife entertainment, known and respected world wide for its ambitious productions, cutting edge innovations and spectacular staging.

The Black Party, the biggest Saint At Large event, held every March on the vernal equinox, is considered the Father of all large circuit events. This year’s Rites XXXII: The Black Party being held March 19, 2011, marks the organization’s 32nd consecutive season. (The party name preface is attributed to the events being loosely based on a tribal celebration of the Rites Of Spring.) The many other Saint At Large productions held at various times throughout the year consistently remain some of NYC’s largest attended, most anticipated and highly promoted events.
Notable Saint At Large events include the glittering U.S. premiere of British avant-pop chanteuse, Roisin Murphy (October 2008) [CONCERT VIDEO], the first New York City solo concert by Oscar-winning singer Jennifer Hudson (New Year's Eve 2006) [CONCERT VIDEO] about which Billboard raved, "one of the more memorable–and significant–performances in the history of club events", and the New York debut of international superstar DJs including Chus & Cebellos, Offer Nissim and The Freemasons.
