Escandalo is a NYC based performance dance group begun by artists Desi Santiago and Viva Ruiz (aka Propecia Destiny Dazzle of the Dazzle Dancers). The two, who have been involved in NYC nightlife and the artworld since the early Nineties in–various capacities and guises–met when they were both performing in the glam cabaret, The Citizens Band.
Realizing they “both grew up in the same house,” where Goth, Freestyle and Latino music were always in the mix, Ecandalo joined forces with NYC House Music producers Automagic (Will Lynn and Brayn Wright) to create their own dark ‘n’ lovely track, “La Bruja” (“The Witch”). Imagine a witches coven on the (original) Sound Factory dancefloor and you'll get the aural picture. Ovah! See more, hear "La Bruja" on their MySpace page.
Watch this spot for the premiere of the Escandalo “La Bruja” video. It was directed by directed by Bec Stupak of Honeygun Labs, who’s work many may recognize from Cazwell’s “Watch My Mouth” and “I Seen Beyonce At Burger King” videos.
Escandalo recently appeared on Penetration radio. Check out the show here.
Penetration does not officially represent Escandalo, but we are friends/fans and can certainly connect you, should you wish to interview them (and you should!) or know more.
