Greg Scarnici Gets His “12 Inch Freak” On
NYC Comedian’s Debut Album Spoofs Dance Music’s Many Genres
With raves on TMZ, Perezhilton.com, MTV, VH1, Fox News, and CNN and over seven million online hits, you already know Greg Scarnici as the viral video sick-sation behind the hilarious Britney parody, “Gimme More (Pills),” as well as equally wicked comedic takes on Beyonce, Fergie, Eminem, Amy Winehouse and others. With the release of “12 Inch Freak,” Greg Scarnici turns his gaze from pop icons to the dancefloor, this time skewering the many genres of dance music.
Formatted as a late night radio program reminiscent of Malcolm McLaren’s album, “Duck Rock,” “12 Inch Freak” drops the comedy bomb on Disco, Hip Hop, Slow Jam, New Wave, Funk, House and Electro. No species of beats escapes. Among the casualties, Indie Dance gets unplugged on “Cooler Than You,” Eighties retro goes wrong on “New Wave Girl,” the Slow Jam gets bent over on “I Wanna…,” House goes flaccid on “Oooh…Yeah…” (featuring Mario Pando of Dalipstyxx) and Hip Hop goes bi on “Curious” (featured on MTV).
“12 Inch Freak” features the singles, “Oooh…Yeah…,” “Curious,” “I Wanna…,” and “Hater Anthem." Look for the "NSFW" “Hater Anthem” video debut September 15 on YouTube. In the meantime, the music video for "Curious" can be viewed below or here. And the music video for "I Wanna..." is available for viewing above and by clicking here.
Fans of Greg Scarnici’s pop star video parodies, will appreciate the bonus track, “Gimme More (Pills),” currently at over 3.6 million views on YouTube! See the video here. And see the rave (not the video, no longer up) on TMZ, "Britney Gets Abs and a Better Weave!"
Written, produced, arranged and mixed by Greg Scarnici, "12 Inch Freak" will be released September 15 in digital and CD formats, available on iTunes and Amazon, where fans can download the entire album or just their favorite tracks.

12 Inch Freak | Track By Track
12 Inch Freak
The title of the album refers to 12” single vinyl dance records everyone bought in the late Seventies and Eighties, so get your mind out the gutta!
Since concept albums are so huge in 2009, I decided to release a 19-track concept album formatted like a late night radio show – a nod to Malcolm McLaren. Uh, Malcolm who? He invented punk rock, managed the Sex Pistols and was married to Vivien Westwood (hello). In the Eighties he fell in love with NYC rap and MCing, which he celebrated on his 1982 album, “Duck Rock.” Learn it.
Cooler Than You
An indie dance track inspired by LCD Soundsystem and all the annoying hipsters who scoff at me on the F train every morning.
An early 80's funk track inspired by Cameo, Rick James and Prince. And by "inspired by" I mean, "ripped off."
An 80's slow jam about doing it "In the rump, you know I'm the best, I ain't no chump!" Live performances of "I Wanna" always end up with a comedic strip-tease that ends with me shaking my fat ass in a zebra thong at the audience.
The radio show continues, with this call from a learning-disabled music lovah.
Let's Do It! (Disco Nights)
A disco track inspired by songs like, "Funkin' For Jamaica" where the singer just speaks throughout the whole song...oh, and cocaine.
A nod to Sylvester and the falsetto singers of the disco era, this sick and twisted song explains, "How I can sing so high!"
A deep house track about an inexperienced lover inspired by 90’s house star Lil Louis' "French Kiss" (that track with all the moaning that slowed down in the middle.) My version doesn’t slow down, but it does moan. Or groan. Anyway, featuring Mario Pando of Dalipstyxx...as the girl.
The radio show moves into hip hop hour with a call from a learning-disabled beat boxer!
Doesn't everyone write rap songs that boast about the joys of bisexuality? Oh wait, no? Just me?
Buy It, Roll It, Light It, Smoke It
I used to love smoking pot until I got all paranoid, so this song is about what can happen when you have too much of a good thing.
Gay For Pay
I always think hustlers who use this line are lying...and they are.
The last part of the radio program features a call from a horny robot. Very 2032.
A minimalist electro track inspired by Kraftwerk and DJ T. It's basically filler, so skip it.
Don't Stop The Beat
Acid house meets 1982. I'm sure only three other people even understand what that means.
A jacked-up Euro dance anthem which samples Usher's "Love In This Club" but puts a new spin on it by dedicating it to all the haters who can go "Suck My Fuckin' Dick, Bitch!" My mother's favorite track.
The album closer and the last shout-out from DJ Aftershock.
Gimme More (Pills)I only included this popular track because I am a whore and needed to sell some damn records! Er, CDs. And mp3s.
